Green Angles

This piece uses a technique taught by Ian Chadwick.  It involves multiple firings and a lot of cutting and grinding and fitting of each small piece before it is finished.  I start with glass stringers which look like thin spaghetti made of glass.

The steps of firing, cutting, grinding and designing take a number of days from beginning to end when making a piece using this technique. It is challenging and frustrating at times, but when the final firing is done and I can put the result in a stand to admire, I always think it was worth the effort.
